Gratitude

(Chinese characters for "Gratitude")

Okay, the comments are on for this post. I need your help. It's another dreary, dark, rainy cold day. I am at my wits end. I need you to please leave a list of 3 of your favorite things, or things you are grateful for. I need a little inspiration here.

My 3 currently are:

I am grateful for my icon studio, and the fact I can go in there, light a candle and incense and spend some quiet time with Our Lord and my spiritual family.

I am grateful for the bounteous nature of the children in this house. It is full. It is good.

I am grateful for my church. My breath of fresh air, and my meeting place with God. The spot where the Divine reaches out and touches me. Ahhh. Lovely.

There. I feel better. But I still need your help. What do you say?

1. I am grateful for you. You are a dear friend and your presence in my life is something I could not do without.
2. I am grateful that it is March 1st, not February 1st.
3. I am grateful for my health, that I am able do for my family. I am grateful for my husband's health, and my children's health as well.

I thought maybe I'd add a few for you, in hopes they might further brighten your day.
1. If I were you, I'd be thankful for this blog. It is a wonderful safe place for expressing yourself, and getting positive reinforcement. We need that.
2. If I were you, I'd be thankful for your many talents and abilities, and for the joy they give you. You are a gifted artist, cook, reader, speaker and thinker.
3. If I were you, I'd be thankful that my youngest child is practically three years old. I am so happy that you are experiencing this!

2. I am thankful that my husband was able to sleep at his sister's house last night instead of getting stuck in the snow or having an accident while trying to get home last night.
3. I am thankful for God's gift of Faith.

I second that I am grateful for you and my other online friends who make a network of prayer, love and support.

I am grateful for the warmth of home on this chilly day (although I'm at the office today.

I am grateful that God loves me even when I'm not being lovable.

And, a bonus - I'm grateful for my family who are my support and love.

1. I am thankful for the smile on Ambrose's face in the morning. He is totally oblivious to the dreariness of the day. He doesn't care that it is still ONLY March, and that smile is my window into a world where the most exciting things in life consist of ceiling fans and a red string of link-a-doos.

2. I am thankful that even though there is probably not enough money in my bank account to buy a loaf of bread, my family and I will not go hungry, thirsty, or even without a bath. And we never have.

3. I am so thankful for our church, and for it's beauty. It is such a refuge for my soul.

4. I am thankful for you, for your family, and for the way you manage your household. You humble me!

Oh, this one's easy:
1. Fingernail clippers

2. chapstick

3. chocolate (dark)

Yup, that about does it... Oh, and hot baths during a stinkin' blizzard. There, I'm glad to help.

I am grateful for Arby's mozzarella sticks---if you have ever had them you would agree!

I am grateful that my children are happy and healthy--although they would probably contest the "happy" part seeing as I am a mean mean mom. Who would think of doing school on a Friday? It is ridiculous in their eyes! I am so horrible...

I am grateful that all of my toilets flush and there was no structural damage done to my house-

I am grateful I am not in prison (you never know, that is a frightening place!) I credit my husband's love for me being a free woman-because if I had not met him and fell in love with his eyes I don't know where my life would have taken me.

Lastly, I am grateful for buttered popcorn and movie rentals, sleeping in and hot showers. For roasting marshmallows on the fire pit and songs in Church, I am grateful for cleaning ladies and Febreeze. I am grateful for family, friends, laughter, tears, and memories.

Oh, and I am grateful for feeling God's warmth upon my days... I just know he is up there laughing with me.

I am going quickly around the bloggerhood and
letting my blogneighbors know that I have switched
back to my old URL - http://domesticexcellence.blogspot.com .
I tried stblog's Wordpress site for hosting my blog -
found the administrator very helpful, but still, out of all
2000 templates they offer (many of which were blank or not
compatible with their version of Wordpress) I could not find
one that was quirky, fun and/or colorful. They all looked very
conservative and like business forms - that is so NOT me. I
also quickly discovered it had limitations to it insofar as
personalizing your blog. Then the administrator got peeved at
me for mentioning this on my blog and invited me to leave.
Even though I was going to try to stay awhile, at least, to
support their efforts at developing another Catholic blogging
community. But, I decided to leave since he seemed rather
rude about it all. I left a notice on my stblog's blog to notify
any visitor of my return to bloggerand the administrator promptly
deleted my whole blog without asking.
And so. Been there, done that.
Thanks for your link to me, if you do so at all. Otherwise, you
know where to find me and I will continue to entertain you with
various template changes - as only Blogger seems to be able
to accomodate without getting chips on their shoulders.

MPN, thank you for this invitation to be thankful.
1.I am thankful for my children and that, in spite of having me for a mother, they are all doing well.

2.I am thankful for the peace that, for the most part, reigns in my heart. It was not always so.

3. I am thankful for blogging and for the wonderful outlet it gives me, and for the people it has allowed me to know.

4. This is the foundation of all the others. The grace of God, without which, who knows where or how I would be...
