A Bleg for Y'all

Okay, people, I need your help. This is officially the last week of my thirties. At this time next week, I well be 40 years old. So, I want to do one special thing each day this week to end the thirties with a smile. And to give the 40's a hint on how I would like that decade to go.

So, I've got today done, I'm going Shopping.
Thursday - I am going to Liturgy and then to breakfast with my husband and whatever other friends are there that day
Friday - ??
Saturday - ??
Sunday - going on a Ladie's Outing with my sister's in law and mom
Monday - ??
Tuesday - ??
And The Big Day - going to get a hair cut and manicure, possibly a pedicure as well. I have never done this before, so now's the time, I think.

So, give me any good ideas you might have. I want this to be a week to remember~!

Saturday: how about dinner out w/the family? Or will you all be doing that on the big day?

Congrats and an early happy birthday to you. I'll be in Chicago when your big day arrives, so I won't be able to peek in to see how your week went. :-)

Happy, happy Birthday week! I'm with Valerie, dinner out should figure in there somewhere.

Maybe a lingering morning breakfast on Tuesday? Oh, wait, Tuesday is August 1st, isn't it? How about Monday?

I was wondering about Sunday...email me!

Ideas: 1) spend a couple hours one morning with your icon 2) have one evening be home movie night or play Uno or something. Just be sure ALL the kids AND dh are there, and it's relaxed!

See you soon (I hope!)

Absolutely, get a babysitter and spend a lot of time with your husband so you'll do a lot of that in your 40's. But first go buy something "special" to wear. At least new undies! Act like a bride and happy birthday to you!

Start an exercise program if you don't already do one. That way you can start to feel younger and younger, instead of older and older. I'd suggest Curves or following the strength training plan in the book "Strong Women Stay Young." Happy Birthday! Oh, I agree about the dinner ideas.

think about what you have always wanted to do: ask yourself: I have always wanted to _______! and do it! Happy birthday!

I haven't seen my thirties for close on seven years now. I love being where I am and who I am {even in the midst of some very real struggles we are experiencing just now}.

I can give you no better idea than to enjoy being you, as you are, because then the decades are irrelevant or at least, less relevant. Ask my wonderful 73 year old mother about it. :) ::thrive!

I turned forty last December. The Mister and The Pipsqueak took me out to Wendy's. I guess I'm set. What more could a woman want? *LOL*

When I turned 40 in 1997, I went out and had my "glamour shot" done and I loved the picture! It was also the picture I snagged my husband with on the internet -- but that's a story in and of itself.
Now, next May, when I turn 50, I'm hoping to get a green Vespa Scooter.
My forties have been the happiest and most blessed decade of my life!
Enjoy!
Oh -- and I'm sorry I'm so late in posting this! Glad I didn't miss your birthday though. Happy Upcoming!

Turning 40 was a pivotal time in my life. Due to my husband's wait for surgery and no income the week I turned 40 I returned to the paid workforce after a 16 year absence. That week I also had my head shaved in a local cops for cancer fund raiser. I figure if I could do those two things the week I turned 40 I can do anything. My 40's has been the best decade of my life yet. Happy, happy birthday to you my dear.

I don't know how to help! I was 9 months pregnant when I turned 40! Boy did my sister have a good time with that!!!

Why don't you go buy yourself something special to remember it by. Doesn't have to be anything expensive- even a little prayer book or something that you write the date and the occasion in would be nice.

I love the 40s! I'm looking forward to the 50s!
