First Antiphon


This is the next part of the Divine Liturgy, taking up where we left off yesterday.

(congregation sings)Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.(+) Bless the Lord, O my soul, and let all that is within me bless His Holy Name. Ever blessed are Thou O Lord!

This is followed by:

(priest or deacon)Again and again, in peace let us pray to the Lord.

(congregation)Lord have mercy.


(p)Preserve, help, save, and have mercy on us, O God, by Thy grace.

(c)Lord have mercy.


(p)Commemorating our most holy, pure, blessed and Glorious Lady, the Mother of God and ever Virgin Mary, together with all the Saints, let us commend ourselves and each other, and our entire lives, to Christ our God.

(c)To Thee, O Lord.


(p)(Quietly)O Lord our God, save Thy people and bless Thine inheritance; protect in peace the fullness of the church; sanctify those who love the beauty of Thy house; glorify them by Thy divine power, and forsake not us who place our trust in Thee.

(aloud) For Thine is the majesty, and Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the golry, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,(+) now, and always, and forever and ever.

(c)Amen.
